Site-Sentinel Console Server - Managing Network and Telco Equipment for Optimum System Performance and Availability

Rapid growth and expanding customer base in the telecommunications (telco) industry has spurred the need for a comprehensive and secure remote management solution that can effectively maintain both heterogeneous and dispersed networks and IT assets. Responding to the needs of the telco industry, Thinklogical's Site Sentinel Console Server was designed specifically for server and network infrastructures within telecommunications environments.

Enhanced security framework

The Site Sentinel offers secure remote access to telco equipment and IT assets whether or not the production network is operational. Advanced security features include encryption tools such as Secure Shell (SSH) and Secure Socket Layer (SSL). Access by authorized users is assured via authentication schemes such as RADIUS, TACACS+, LDAP, Kerberos, NIS and RSA Security's SecurID tokens. The Site Sentinel's network port bonding ensures successful failover, which allows network access to continue with no interruption and high availability. In addition, a 256K FIFO audit trial per device port allows for easy diagnostics, should an attached device fail. These features allow for faster problem resolution and maximize network uptime.

Resembles a true Linux network server

The core of the Site Sentinel is an x86-based computer running GNU/Linux. In addition, the Site Sentinel generates a unique set of host keys upon setup, this is a crucial security feature which some traditional console servers lack. Harnessing full distribution, non-embedded Linux, the Site Sentinel is the only console server on the market that is able to integrate into any system and configuration management software programs that are being utilized by the enterprise. This enables users to customize the capacity of the Site Sentinel, as well as its level of integration and adherence into existing enterprise and telecommunications network security policies. Moreover, users are able to match security technology to fit their processes while modifying and enhancing features to meet their needs.

Custom designed GUI for ease of installation and maintenance

Integrated in the Site Sentinel is a custom designed GUI developed for non-Linux users. This innovative browser based GUI incorporates expandable menu options for installation as well as advanced setup features such as authentication, logs, and the ability to view/import/export server configurations. Embedded security features such as user login and password authentication are also included.

Unique in design

Equipped with a high efficiency 48 DC volt power capability the Site Sentinel offers a unique design for unparallel flexibility. This easy-to-deploy console server allows for quick mounting, with 0U architecture. This allows users to mount units in different locations (under-counter, wall or side wall mount) without sacrificing valuable rack space.

Available in an 8- port model, the Site Sentinel provides the layer of security, management, and control over widespread infrastructures that telco users require.
