Thinklogical Introduces Revolutionary New Fiber Optic Matrix Switching and Extension System for DVI and High Speed USB 2.0 Peripherals
New DCS StudioPRO System offers high performance switching and extension in a compact, cost-effective system
Milford, CT –April 15, 2007 – Thinklogical, a leading provider of fiber optic KVM switching and extension solutions, today announced it is now shipping its revolutionary new DCS StudioPRO system. This is the first solution that combines Thinklogical’s industry leading DCS matrix switch features with next generation fiber optic extension technology. Comprised of a transmitter, receiver, and switch, the system enables transparent and secure routing, switching and extension of video and high speed USB 1.1/2.0 peripherals.
The DCS StudioPRO System is a new class of cost-effective matrix switching designed specifically for small and medium sized applications in high performance computing environments. A single (6U) chassis co-locates video and high speed data peripherals with 16 video ports and 32 data ports. This compact size greatly reduces complexity and cost by drastically lowering the number of components, connectors and interconnection cables. This full non-blocking matrix switch features Broadcast (one to all) and multicast (one to more than one) connection capability. In addition, user’s can easily configure and control the switch with the DCS StudioPRO’s browser based GUI.
“A significant focus of our technology strategy revolves around leveraging best-of-breed technology for all types of environments and user requirements, said Kevin Keefe, Director of Engineering at Thinklogical. “Thinklogical’s innovative approach, which integrates fiber optic KVM extension with matrix switching, delivers a solution that is based on the needs of the users who require a smaller scale system or who have budget constraints, however they do not want to sacrifice performance."
The DCS StudioPRO’s fiber optic KVM extenders effectively support both Single-Link and Dual-Link DVI. Video sources can be extended up to 500 meters with industry standard resolutions, maintaining flawless, unsurpassed image quality with no frame dropping or content loss. This makes it ideally suited for post-production studios, board rooms, command centers, educational facilities, and any environment that needs to send multiple video and data signals to multiple output devices (or displays).
“The DCS StudioPRO System will allow us further evolve in the way that we provide our customers with a seamless end-user experience. This system maintains superior DVI video source and USB 2.0 support which is critical for high performance applications, such as multimedia,” said David Cheever, President of Thinklogical. “By tightly integrating the extension and switching components within an infrastructure users gain unparalleled flexibility without sacrificing image or content quality.”
